Property:
DL-Methionine is white or light grey crystal or powder. It has a special smell. The density is about 0.6g/cm3. The melting point of DL-Methionine is 281 degree Celsius. It is soluble in water, low-concentration acid and alkali solution but not soluble in ether.
Usage:
DL-Methionine (Feed Grade) is approved for use in all animal species. Particularly used in monogastrics, it ensures the adequate supply of sulfur amino acids, especially of the essential methionine. Additionally, diets for piglets and growing pigs can show a considerable deficiency in methionine, especially when formulated to achieve low nitrogen excretion for ecological reasons. Such a deficiency can be conveniently compensated for by using DL-Methionine Feed grade.
